This is a landmark album for me as it is my first solo one. I've composed, arranged and performed all the tracks, and have faithfully reproduced in the studio the same arrangements I can live loop with pedals, and play on stage. Featuring 11 tracks, nearly an hour of music.

Stunning cover photograph capturing "a magnificent astronomical spectacle in the Pleiades as a moving cluster of stars encountered an isolated molecular cloud."

One thousand miles of sea She journeys all alone How does she find her way She’s coming home To where her life began To lay the future down The tides of life Go round and round and round and round and round CHORUS Shes lived one hundred years or more Her heart shaped shell laid bare Moon and stars and tide Are her only guide O turtle of our oceans Elegant and free Seas of change are gathering Can you ride the storm? **************** Her work done, exhausted, She crawls back to the sea Heavily across the sand By moon She may never meet The young she’s given life Another moon she’ll ride in On the tide Fifty suns and Fifty moons One hundred eggs lay deep In sand Every moment savoured In the womb like warmth Plenty dangers lie Ahead CHORUS Shes lived one hundred years or more Her heart shaped shell laid bare Moon and stars and tide Are her only guide O turtle of our oceans Elegant and free Seas of change are gathering Can you ride the storm? Can you ride the storm? Can you ride the storm?

In Our Hands 06:08
Pink sunrise, painted skies Glistening cobwebs, dragonflies Earth’s magic ever spins Buds burst forth on plants and trees Fragrance hangs on summer breeze The magic ever spins Coral pinks in azure sea Dolphins roaming free Earth is in her glory Crashing waves and waterfalls A myriad of songbird calls Earth’s ever moving story When I take time to stand and stare What’s happening to our world out there If you take time do you see too, The air we breathe, the trees, the seas Are struggling in our hands Earth’s beauty takes my breath away How I want our world to stay Forever in our hands Do we think and do we care Enough about our world out there To hold her in our hands When I take time to stand and stare What’s happening to our world out there If you take time do you see too The air we breathe, the trees, the seas Are struggling in our hands

You don't have to take your life off the shelf You've got what you need to make it yourself It's your life, be what you want to be Make it work for you Are you working for the man every hour that you can Never stopping, keep going till you're dropping To your knees------ Get up with the rising sun No time for fun, I’ve got to run Places to go, people to see Deadlines to meet, the pressures on me It no longer seems enough to give your very best You got to prove yourself to be a cut above the rest Candles burning at both ends Drives me round the f– ing bend Your life to fit your work If you want promotion, no time to shirk The glamour, the power, the nirvana pay rise The bank balance soaring, you can reach for the skies That are grey, when you finally get time out Like a light, cos you are quite shattered; Working long hours makes your brain feel battered Life's out of balance, somewhat up ended All this hard earned cash & no time to spend it On yourself-------- And anyway, the working life's not cheap, You' ve really gotta sow, if you wanna reap Got to spend money in order to make it There’s no time to fix it yourself if you break it Got to be smart, be state of the art Be sleek, be chic, be cool not geek Dates in diaries, worry, slog & strife Whatever happened to the simple life? You don't have to take your life off the shelf You've got what you need to make it yourself It's your life, be what you want to be Make it work for you When will it all end, when will I see The tree in all its simplicity Birds, flowers, sunset, sea It's all beautiful & it's all free There really is time to stand & stare Look at what's around, it's amazing & it's there For the taking, hey girl Stop - procrastinating Swap your trendy bistro for a feast on the beach Sunset’s my backdrop, life really is Peaches & cream, I'm living my dream Sun on my face, wind in my hair, The stars are my tele, do I care What the neighbours think? I don't want to drink Myself legless, till I've spent all my money No good for my liver, and not at all funny. This working life mentality, it's really quite a con Work less, need less, less possessions, less stress Food on the table, feed my family A modest home, we can live quite happily Nature our playground, music, conversation Time for each other, for contemplation Time for work, and time for play I'm shaping my life, I'm doing it my way. You don't have to take your life off the shelf You've got what you need to make it yourself It's your life, be what you want to be Make it work for you, it's your reality

Bees & Birds 06:33
How do the birds fly on the breeze How do the fish swim in the seas Other miracles like these, how? Other miracles like these How does milk turn into cheese How does honey come from bees Other miracles like these, how? Other miracles like these

Sleep Dreams 03:47
Sleep, I love it, can’t get enough of it And sometimes I think I’ve forgotten how to do it My mind’s a circus, I keep counting sheep, And all I really wanna do is fall sleep Breathe deep, relax Take time, empty your mind There are nights when my brain is slow So luxurious & dreamy I could sleep all week But there are nights when my brain’s unkind It keeps running past me everything that’s on my mind Tomorrow’s nearly here And I’ve gotta shine Just five hours away And I’m still running in my mind, I ’m running in my mind Did she say this, and did I say that Did I post that letter, did I feed the cat Why did I have that cup of tea It’s get out of bed and have another pee Oh no, oh yes, Back into bed, empty your head Tomorrow’s nearly here And I’ve gotta shine Just five hours away And I’m still running in my mind, I ’m running in my mind

Come fly with me on a silver cloud, Come fly with me, everything’s allowed Come fly with me & we’ll soar. I was sitting in a cloud & the world stood still, Time for thinking, for wondering, how stop running Round in circles, what was i to do? I was pondering this question when the sun broke through I was sitting on a rock that was jutting out to sea, On a rock taking stock when the sea surrounded me Gotta jump, make a move, it’s really sink or swim Action starts to happen when you’re out there on a limb You gotta take it where you find it Life is priceless don’t you know There’s no point in such a gift, waste it will go No time for moaning & complaining bad attitude and strife Gotta reach for those stars, gotta live your life I was walking in the rain watching holes in the water What about my hopes & dreams Not just things i ought to? Ought to do, ought to be, ought to have, ought to know There’s just no motivation in ought to overload This world is full of colour, not dowdy shades of grey Let colour be the backdrop of my every waking Daytime, playtime, every moment of my life I was reaching this conclusion When a rainbow lit the sky I was standing on a mountain When lightening lit the sky’s The limit, life be in it, life’s a bitch & then you die A little, cry a little, move on from the past Re- create my landscape, going nowhere fast. I’d been stumbling in the dark, trying not to fall Through the cracks, watch my back Expecting a brick wall of my own making Tear it down I opened my eyes and i could see all around I opened my eyes and i could see all around I opened my eyes You gotta take it where you find it Life is priceless don’t you know There’s no point in such a gift, waste it will go No time for moaning & complaining bad attitude and strife Gotta reach for those stars, gotta live your life Reach for those stars Reach for those stars Reach for those stars

Speck 05:14
You weren’t looking & neither was I But there’s an attraction we cant deny Is this chapter one, a brand new start Though we’'re 3,000 miles apart You’re interstate & you’re out of sight My day is your night Will we cross the miles till your return Will I be ready for love again You’re just a speck, You’re just a speck on my atlas On my atlas Speck on my atlas Mile and miles of virtual smiles Mile and miles of virtual smiles Time has flown and so have you Back to this island, is this chapter two? The passage of time has stilled my mind Will I be ready for love again Will I be ready for love again To love again Will I be ready, to open my heart To you

Traces 03:41
Can you see my footsteps walking this land Years of my life traced in these sands And can you hear the whisper of wind in the bay So many yesterdays here in today On the cliff the tiny house looks over the sea Every stone and timber echoes memory Children’s voices, lovers touch The old oak door that creaked so much Ship lights that wink out on the dark sea I feel the breeze and I smell the ocean I hear the waves and I taste the spray I see the piper on the wing Let go of my head and let my heart sing I see the piper on the wing Let go of my head and let my heart sing Let me take your hand along the paths I love Down the worn steps that lead to the cove Around the headland to the inn in the bay To my sunset cliff perch at the end of a day Can you see my footsteps walking this land Years of my life traced in these sands And can you hear the whisper of wind in the bay So many yesterdays here in today I feel the breeze and I smell the ocean I hear the waves and I taste the spray I see the piper on the wing Let go of my head and let my heart sing I see the piper on the wing Let go of my head and let my heart sing Let go of my head and let my heart sing

How shall I write a song for you That’s big enough to let your spirit shine through Like it did all those years when life changed so much You couldn’t do what was dear to you. And how shall I write a song for you That’s strong enough to hold the courage you grew With each movement lost you persevered With serenity you faced your fears And you smiled and smiled and you never gave up You squeezed every drop out of the life you loved And when I think of you I smile too Cos you’re free of your body and you dance And when I think of you I smile too Cos now you’re free and you dance you dance How shall I write a song for you That shines as bright as the love from you You touched the hearts of everyone you met With that beautiful smile we will never forget And you smiled and smiled and you never gave up You squeezed every drop out of the life you loved And when I think of you I smile too Cos you’re free of your body and you dance And when I think of you I smile too Cos now you’re free and you dance you dance You’re dancing

Pleiades seven sisters, Pleiades seven sisters Their home's in the sky, their home's in the sky For ever and ever

about

The album is named after the final track, 'Pleiades', an ambient soundscape, a journey to the stars.
Melody and soundscape are important to me,as is the challenge of seeing how big a sound I can make as one woman and a bunch of instruments-violin, mandolin, cajon, synthesiser, harmonic flute, melodica, voice---oh, and an alarm clock. My music is inspired by my love of sea and nature. What we humans are doing to the earth concerns me, and that comes across in some of my lyrics. I hope you enjoy my music.
